Genoa for the children
A welcoming city, a city of culture, a city of culture for children: this is “child-friendly” and “family-friendly” Genoa. Renowned all over the world for its scientific and paediatric centre of excellence, treatment and care for the children, the Istituto “Giannina Gaslini”, and for being the seat of the “Medchild Institute”, Mediterranean Foundation for Childhood, Genoa leads children into a wonderful world. Many public and private entities, indeed, offer a wide range of attractions, initiatives, and opportunities for children of all ages.
The Città dei bambini (Children’s City), in the Old Port, is the largest and most comprehensive area in Italy devoted to children aged from 3 to 14 years. Here, science and technology are constantly proposed through games and entertaining activities. The International Children’s Library “De Amicis”, in turn, is the most advanced and specialising library in Italy and Europe in its sector.
The Acquarium of Genoa; the Antarctic Museum; the Museum of the Sea; the Museum of Luzzati
Various museums and Palazzo Ducale organise special itineraries, teaching workshops, and seminars; since the year 2000, Palazzo Ducale has even organised a joyful children’s New Year’s Eve!
