A tour of historic food stores, traditional shops and emporiums: the atmosphere of the past ... On Saturday (from 31 march) at 10.30 am ...

“Forno, drogheria, friggitoria, sciamadda” are words that evoke the flavours and aromas of the past. For centuries these stores have been the focus of life in the neighbourhoods of the old town. They were, and still are, places were people would meet and talk while doing their shopping or just enjoy a meal and a glass of wine…
Sottoripa: friggitoria, a “fried food” shop…. real street food, Genoese style…
Vico Caprettari : a beautiful barber shop in liberty style, property of the Italian National Trust
Via Giustiniani : Sa Pesta, an ancient “sciamadda” where they prepare traditional oven cooked vegetable pies, chick peas “farinata”, stuffed anchovies and much more.
Via S.Bernardo : the drugstores
Piazza Giustiniani: “Aria di Mare” macramè laces -ceramics-traditional genoese design printed and painted – Demonstration 20 min
San Matteo e Vico Casana: the Tripperia, a tripe shop and eaterie
Piazza Soziglia: Klainguti since 1828, one of the historical Cafes of Italy; Romanengo a refined liberty style confectionary.
Macelli di Soziglia: butchers, coffe emporium and traditional household shops.
In a traditional little shop: local food, oil and wine. Tasting salt&sweet (about 20 min)

Starting from 31st March, every Saturday, at 10:30: guided tour in Italian and English language.
