Playing sport
Sport is all but negligible in the life of Genoa: from the heated rivalry between the city’s two football teams to the latest game of bocce (bowls) played by pensioners, sport in Genoa is a natural part of daily conversation.
Genoa, wonderfully facing the sea, offers an extremely wide range of possibilities for sport lovers, both those who play it and those who prefer to watch it.
Water sports, of course, such as sailing, windsurfing, fishing, but also wonderful walks in the parks and on the hills, trekking in the woods or a relaxing game of golf for open-air lovers.
The coast in close proximity to the city and the hinterland offers all kinds of scenery for those who want to walk, ride a bike or a horse, or even take a stroll on level ground enjoying a wonderful view of the city from the top.
