It’s the best example of entirely preserved Medieval town in Europe and in The Mediterranean area. A large part has been declared a World Heritage site by Unesco.
It’s a square area jutting out in the Mediterranean Sea, it’s one of the most attractive tourist places and also one of the most visited in Italy.
Symbol of the town, the Lanterna (lighthouse) was built in the XII century, it is 117 m high and it guides the ships inside the harbour. Close to the Lighthouse there is the Museum which can be reached waliking for about 600 m along a promenade lining the Old Walls.
Porto Antico - Genova
The monumental Door (dating back to mid-XVI century) on the Molo Vecchio (Old Pier) houses the permanent exhibition of the great genoese artist Emanuele Luzzati.

Salita Santa Maria di Castello, 15 - Genova

Villetta Di Negro - Piazzale Mazzini, 4 - Genova
The most important Museum in Europe, after Cà Pesaro, for what concerns collections from the Far East; it is situated in the spectacular Park of Villetta Di Negro.
The collection Edoardo Chiossone, that gives the name to the whole complex, is now on permanent exhibition at the Museum
Viale IV Novembre, 5 - Genova
The Sanctuary is a gorgeous example of the artistic Genoese school of the XVI century; in it there is the urn of Santa Caterina Fieschi Adorno, who died in 1510 and was made Saint in 1737 by Pope Clemens XI; in 1943 Pope Pious XII appointed her Saint Patron of all Italian hospitals. _ Her day is celebrated on 12th September.
Piazza San Bartolomeo degli Armeni, 2 - Genova
In this church, belonging to the Barnabite Order (whose origins date back to the XIV century), there is the precious image of Christ, in a portrait painted by Anania.
Corso Dogali 18 - Genova
By the rampart of Monte Galletto sheer to the sea, the Park and Museum offer a spectacular attractive tour with enjoyable views.
